AABC

The Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches (AABC) was formed in 2009 to help provide a unified voice for basketball coaches across the state.

Our mission is to promote basketball, the coaches and the athletes, in the state of Alaska. We started as a fledgling organization and have grown to be the premier coaches association in the state.

We attribute our success to a number of hard working coaches and the NHSBCA’s guidance and support. Without the National High School Basketball Coaches Association we would not be where we are today. Each year we have grown leaps and bounds from the suggestions and ideas we have taken away from the NHSBCA national conclave.

 

We Are proud of

  • Facilitate our weekly coaches poll
  • Provide partnerships with national companies to help get discounts and quality products for our members. 
  • Automatically become a member of the NHSBCA when you sign up to be an AABC member.
  • Honor our coaches with the coach of the year awards at our annual awards banquet.
  • Facilitate the All-state voting and recognize the 1st team all-state athletes at our annual awards banquet.
    Provide coaches and officials with gifts at the state tournament.
  • Put on our premier senior all-star game that showcases 90+seniors from across the state. This is a huge opportunity for our athletes as college coaches come up to recruit. We are averaging close to 20 athletes signing each year during this event.
  • Started the Roger Steinbrecher Coaching Integrity award in 2016/17 to encourage coaches to be above reproach and coach with integrity. 
  • Started the AABC Hall of Fame for former standout players and coaches.
